GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Peter Pappas, Philadelphia KiXX
Pappas, a seven-time all-star earned a pair of victories this weekend, improving his record to 6-4 overall this season. The native of Toronto, Ontario earned a 9-4 win in Chicago (12/17) with 15 saves on 19 shots he faced, and then followed up with a 6-3 victory with 18 saves on 21 chances versus the Wave (12/18). The Philadelphia University product is ranked second in the MISL in saves (133) and minutes (600), third in save percentage (.743), and fourth in goals against average (4.59). This is the second time Pappas has been honor as Goalkeeper of the Week this season (Nov. 22).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Pat Morris, Philadelphia KiXX
Morris collects his second straight weekly honor and fourth overall this season (Oct. 25, Nov. 8, Dec. 13). The Philadelphia native registered a pair of points and one block in each of the club's contests this past weekend. Morris first tallied a goal and one assist in Chicago (12/17), and then added a pair of goals in the team's 6-3 victory versus the Milwaukee Wave on December 18. The three- time all-star also blocked one shot versus the Wave, marking the 300th block of his six-year career. The Philadelphia University graduate is now tied for 11th in the MISL with 15 points (10 goals, five assists) and fourth in the League with 18 blocks.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dino Delevski, Kansas City Comets
On Saturday against Chicago, Delevski finished with three goals and three assists. He scored the first goal of the game merely 15 seconds into the first quarter. He followed it up with another goal late in the fourth quarter to give the Comets a 4-2 lead. He also scored the game-tying goal in the fourth quarter at 10:35. Delevski assisted on the Comets fifth, sixth and ninth (game-winning) goals. Six points in one game is a new high for the Comets this season. Delevski also notched his first hat trick of the season. His performance versus the Storm marks his first six-point outburst in a single game since the 2002-03, when the multi-point scoring system was in place. The six-point game propelled Delevski to second place in the Spalding Scoring Race standings with 14 goals and seven assists for 21 points in eight games. He is just one point behind leader Daryl Doran, who has played in five more games. Delevski currently leads the league in goals (14), power play goals (four) and restart goals (three).Delevski was also honored as Offensive Player of the Week on October 25.
