(Westport, Conn., December 3, 2002) – The Major Indoor Soccer League Management Committee has elected Cleveland Force Chief Executive Officer Dick Dietrich as the League's Chairman, Commissioner Steve Ryan announced on Tuesday. The Management Committee, which is comprised of the League's Investor-Operators, also elected San Diego principal David Altomare to the position of Vice-Chairman. Dietrich and Altomare will hold their offices for two-year terms.

In their new roles, Dietrich and Altomare will serve in a variety of capacities, including but not limited to, providing communication and liaison between Investor-Operators and the League office on strategic issues. They will also consult with the Commissioner on the appointment of members to League committees and assist in the development of Management Committee agendas. In addition, Altomare will perform the duties of the MISL Chairman in the event of the absence or incapacity of the Chairman.

Dietrich became involved with professional indoor soccer in 1999 when he led a successful bid by North Coast Professional Sports Ltd. to purchase the then-Cleveland Crunch. Dietrich serves as President and Co-Founder of Glass Equipment Development, Inc. of Twinsburg, OH and is a partner in Edge Seal Technologies based in Walton Falls, OH. In addition, Dietrich is a principal in the Walton Falls based Leading Edge Distributors.

"I appreciate the confidence that my partners have put in me," Dietrich said. "I'm focused on the fact that the MISL is a young business and believe that we must concentrate on sound business practices. We must be persistent in utilizing our entrepreneurial knowledge and skill to grow this sport."

Altomare has been a fan of professional indoor soccer for over 20 years before re-introducing the city of San Diego to the sport in 2001. The Ohio native is the founder of the San Diego Auto Trader and was a long-time sponsor of the original Sockers before selling his company and playing a leading role in San Diego's arrival in the MISL.

"I am honored to be elected to the Vice-Chair position," Altomare stated. "The success of the MISL is important to everyone involved and I intend to continue my support in any way that I can. The MISL has combined the best of the best into one League that will continue to evolve as the premier indoor soccer league in the nation."
