Kixx player/coach receives automatic one-game suspension

(Westport, Conn., March 1, 2002) – Philadelphia Kixx player/coach Omid Namazi has been suspended for one game and will miss his team's March 1 contest at Baltimore, the Major Indoor Soccer League announced on Friday.

Namazi received the automatic suspension after receiving his second Misconduct during the Kixx's 20-11 victory at Cleveland on February 24.

Per the MISL Operations Manual, Supplement 1, "If a player accumulates two (2) Misconducts during a game, they will be ejected from that game and will automatically receive a one (1) game Suspension without pay to be served during the next regularly scheduled game for that player or coach's team."

"Each of the MISL's member clubs has been put on notice regarding the conduct of our players," Commissioner Ryan stated. "Our regulations clearly state the expectation of the League in regards to the compliance of the rules."

Namazi is eligible to return to the playing field and the coaching ranks on Saturday, March 2 when Philadelphia hosts Cleveland.
