WESTPORT, Conn. (Monday, April 24, 2006) - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Commissioner Steve Ryan announced today that following a thorough review and investigation, the MISL Disciplinary Committee has issued an additional two-year suspension and imposed an undisclosed fine against Baltimore Head Coach Tim Wittman for the incidents that occurred following the conclusion of the match between the Baltimore Blast and the California Cougars on March 18 at Stockton Arena. Upon a review of relevant materials and accounts offered by any individuals involved with the incident, including a hearing of Mr. Wittman's accounts, as well as the examination of the official game reports filed following the match, the MISL Disciplinary Committee concluded that Mr. Wittman violated MISL Regulation 17.9, Referee Assault, committing an intentional act of physical violence at or upon a Referee.

On March 20, Mr. Wittman was suspended from any MISL or Baltimore Blast related activities for the remainder of the 2005-06 MISL regular season and for the duration of the 2006 MISL Championship Series, pending a full review of the situation. Following its review and investigation, the MISL Disciplinary Committee has further suspended Mr. Wittman for the 2006-07 regular season and postseason, as well as the 2007-08 regular season and postseason.
