Miracle On-Line Auction to Benefit Fallen Officer

FORT MYERS, F.L. (April 10, 2008)-The Fort Myers Miracle have teamed up with their fans to raise over $2,500 to help support the family of fallen Lieutenant Mark Niedermeyer. The Lee County Sheriff passed away on March 21.

On April 4, the Miracle wore specially designed Lee County Sheriff's hats in memory of Lt. Niedermeyer. The green hat was adorned with a gold three-pointed star logo. The back of the hat featured the words, "In Memory of Lt. Niedermeyer".

During the game, fans bid on each player's hat, which were autographed and distributed after the game to the highest bidder.

For patrons that were unable to attend the game on April 4, the Miracle is hosting an on-line auction thru their website, miraclebaseball.com. To go to the auction page, fans can click on the link for the auction on the left-hand side of the Miracle homepage.

Fans will be able to bid on the specially designed LCS hat that is autographed by the entire 2008 Miracle Professional Baseball team. Bidding is open now and will conclude at the end of the Miracle's upcoming home stand, April 17.

All proceeds from the in-game hat auction and on-line auction go directly to the Niedermyer family.
