SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota United has announced a new TV partnership with MY29 WFTC to broadcast all home and away matches for the 2016 NASL season, including the postseason. Minnesota begins its NASL season on April 2nd and will play 32 matches, all of which will be broadcast live on MY29.

Fans will be able to catch every moment of the action as it happens on MY29 WFTC, with select games throughout the season featuring a 30-minute pregame show.

"We are very pleased to begin our relationship with Fox 9/MY29 for the upcoming 2016 NASL season," said Minnesota United President Nick Rogers. "Sports fans in Minnesota know to expect a great broadcast from Fox 9/MY29 and we are excited to be able to showcase our team and our brand on their network. This announcement is another step forward for us as a club and is fantastic news for our fans and our partners."

The announcement comes during an eventful preseason for the club. United has been on two preseason tours, a tournament against Major League Soccer opponents in Portland and a training tour in Mexico. In late February the team also unveiled new stadium designs for the privately financed stadium to be built in the Midway neighborhood of St. Paul.

"This soccer team has a very bright future and we are delighted to be their broadcast partner. This is a great addition to our slate of programming on MY29 WFTC and to have exclusive opportunities for sports content in our Fox9 newscasts." added Sheila Oliver, General Manager of Fox 9/MY29.

2016 Minnesota United broadcasts will once again feature play-by-play announcer Chris Lidholm, color commentator Alan Willey, and sideline reporter Eric Nordquist. Lidholm has been the voice of Minnesota soccer for more than 20 years, calling matches for the Thunder, Stars, and United.

Entering his second year in the booth, Willey is a U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer with 17 years of playing experience, which includes playing with the Minnesota Kicks and Minnesota Strikers. He is the second all-time leading scorer in NASL history with 129 goals to his credit.

Down on the sidelines, Nordquist is also in his second year with the broadcast crew. Nordquist has many years of broadcasting experience during his time with several radio stations in the Twin Cities, most notably producing the "Paul Allen Show" on KFAN.

Tune in to MY29 on April 2nd to see the Loons open their season against the Carolina RailHawks at 2 p.m. CT. Minnesota opens its home campaign on Saturday, April 16th as it welcomes the Fort Lauderdale Strikers to NSC Stadium.
