SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm today announced its contest on Sunday, March 27 against the Buffalo Bandits on Treasure Island Field at Xcel Energy Center will air LIVE on national television on VERSUS.
The game's start time has been moved to 1 p.m. CST in order to accommodate a national television audience.
"We're extremely excited that the National Lacrosse League has selected Minnesota for a live, nationally televised game on VERSUS," Swarm Owner John Arlotta said. "This not only gives us an opportunity to showcase the Minnesota Swarm professional lacrosse franchise, but is also a great chance for the community to demonstrate the explosive growth of lacrosse in Minnesota."
Earlier this week, the NLL announced a nine game TV package with VERSUS for the 2011 season. The package begins on February 27 with a LIVE telecast of the NLL All-Star Game at 1 p.m. CST.
"We're honored to have brought recognition to the Minnesota lacrosse community by bringing the first NCAA Division I lacrosse game to Minnesota between Notre Dame and Army, and now the first nationally televised, live professional lacrosse game to Minnesota," Swarm Co-Owner and Vice President Andy Arlotta said.
