Minnesota Swarm News Release
SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm will hold its second annual doubleheader with the Minnesota RollerGirls on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7p.m. on Treasure Island Field at Xcel Energy Center.
"We are really excited to partner with the Minnesota RollerGirls for the second time," said Minnesota Swarm Co-Owner & Vice President Andy Arlotta. "They are a great organization with an outstanding fan base. This is a great way for both of our organizations to develop new fans, and we look forward to continuing to work with the RollerGirls year after year."
After the Swarm takes on the Colorado Mammoth, the turf will be rolled up and the RollerGirls will participate in their bout. Last season, the RollerGirls broke the roller derby attendance record when 8,911 fans attended the doubleheader.
The Swarm will also partner with Xcel Energy's Windsource(r) program on Saturday and offset 100% of the electricity needs for both events. The Swarm first partnered with Xcel Energy's Windsource(r) program with "Windsource Weekend" during the 2011 season for its Feb. 19th contest.
Early arriving fans will receive an Xcel Energy Windsource coupon book and a Lions Tap seat stuffer, while early arriving women will receive a $20 gift certificate courtesy of Sanctuary SalonSpa.
Advanced tickets for the doubleheader can be purchased online for as little as $22 by using the code "roller" at mnswarm.com/rollergirls. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 1-888-MN-SWARM.
