SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm today announced that the team has acquired the #3 overall pick in the 2012 NLL Entry Draft in exchange for the #5, #14, #18 picks in the 2012 NLL Entry Draft, D Brendon Doran and F Shawn Williams, pending league approval.

Fresh off a trip to the Western Division Finals, the Swarm now hold three consecutive first-round selections with picks #2, #3, and #4 in this year's upcoming draft in September. Minnesota also holds the final selection in the first-round with the #10 pick, giving the team a league-high four first-round selections.

"We obviously gave up a lot, but we had a lot of resources in this year's draft," Owner & President John Arlotta said. "We're very excited to be able to make three straight picks at #2, #3, and #4. It will be a very exciting time for Swarm Lacrosse."

Minnesota acquired Williams in another trade the team made on Friday with the Edmonton Rush in exchange for two 2nd-round draft picks in the 2013 NLL Entry Draft. Doran, 26, recorded three points (2g, 1a), 19 loose balls, and five forced turnovers in nine games for Minnesota in his first season with the club in 2012.
