East Kentucky Miners News Release

PIKEVILLE, KY. - The East Kentucky Miners announced on Tuesday forward Byron Allen had been activated and added to the team's roster. In addition to Allen's activation, East Kentucky announced guard Daniel Price had been deactivated.

Allen appeared in seven games before being deactivated earlier in the season. The Northwestern State product is averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game for the Miners.

A Pikeville College graduate, Price played in five games before being deactivated. Price made the most of his time with the Miners, averaging 10.8 points per game. He joined the CBA team when suspensions were dealt out to guards Bryant Northern and Jason McLeish. In five games prior to the most recent roster move, Price played 88 minutes, scoring a total of 54 points.

"Daniel Price came in and contributed right away," said East Kentucky Coach Kevin Keathley. "He came into training camp with a great attitude, worked hard and after the initial roster took shape, got the opportunity to make a difference for our basketball team."

East Kentucky is currently 5-7. The Miners are due back in action Thursday at 7:05 p.m. on the road in North Dakota versus the Minot Sky Rockets. Minot (7-2) is the frontrunner in the American Conference.
