THE SKINNY:
First-place Milwaukee Wave travels to Missouri on Jan. 28 to face the Comets and returns to the U.S. Cellular Arena to play host to the Omaha Vipers on Jan. 29. In the Wave's last meeting with the Vipers, the Wave routed former Wave player, Marcelo Fontana's Vipers club 21-6 on Jan. 14.
Milwaukee
defeated former Milwaukee Wave president Peter Wilt's Chicago Riot 16-8 on Saturday Jan. 22. The Wave were led by a pair of goals from Hewerton and Giuliano Oliviero. Milwaukee took a 5-0 lead into the second quarter. Wave's Ian Bennett recorded his 100th career point by a two-point goal in the third-quarter to increase Milwaukee's lead to 11-4. Matt Stewart netted a unassisted three-point goal to give the Wave a 16-8 lead with just under two minutes left in the game.
The Wave's offense is averaging 13 points per game and has score in 15 of 25 powerplay chances which is best in the MISL. Milwaukee leads the league with three 20-point games. The offense is driven by Terminesi, who will be taking his 19-game point streak into this weekend's games. He recorded his first and the team's first hat-trick of the season against the Vipers on Jan. 14. He leads the MISL with 11 assists and leads the club with 37 points and 12 total goals. Oliviero is second on the team with 28 points and recorded 5-points against Chicago last Saturday.
