Millrats Home Opener vs Vermont Sunday

The Manchester Millrats regular season home-opener versus the Vermont Frost Heaves is set for this Sunday at 2:30pm, at the Fieldhouse on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University.
Manchester defeated Vermont 94-90 on December 28th in Barre, VT to take the Green Mountain Tip Off Preseason Tournament. Vermont and Manchester migrated this summer to the PBL (Premier Basketball League) from the ABA, where Vermont had won two consecutive championships.
Since their last meeting, Manchester has added a trio of guards, in shooters Keith Salscheider and Tommy Mitchell, and veteran point guard Lincoln Glass. Salscheider and Glass have CBA experience, while Mitchell was an ABA All Star last season with Montreal. Vermont recently signed 6'11 center Justin Herndon from Belmont.

The intense rivalry between the two neighboring teams began last season when the Millrats were responsible for all of Vermont's four losses on the year. The preseason contest in Barre two weeks ago had a playoff-like intensity that demonstrated mindset of the two teams in facing each other. Sunday looks to be even better as the Millrats are looking to avoid an 0-3 start to their season, and need a win.
This game also marks the return of former SNHU Penmen basketball stars Sam Carey and PJ Young to the Fieldhouse. Carey is making his home debut as a professional basketball player.
Tickets are still available online at www.manchestermillrats.com, or at the door, and are just $10 for adults and $5 for kids 17 and under. Doors open one hour prior to tip off.
