Mill Rats Regular Season Ends this Weekend in Big Double Header at Home
April 27, 2016 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Saint John Riptide News Release
(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats final two regular season games are this weekend's doubleheader against the Moncton Miracles and the Halifax Hurricanes.
The Miracles are a possible first round opponent of the Mill Rats and come to Harbour Station on Friday at 7 PM. On Saturday, the Mill Rats host the #1 ranked Halifax Hurricanes, also at 7 PM.
"We are in a great position to potentially reach a franchise record 26 regular season wins, and possibly even the #2 overall seed in the league," said Mill Rats President Ian McCarthy. "We need our fans to come out and support the team over these last two games before our playoff push."
The average point differential in the ten games against the Moncton Miracles has been just 5.7 points, demonstrating how close the season series has been. There has also been an overtime win and a win on a half court shot at the buzzer. Saint John leads the season series 6-4.
Against the #1 seed, the Halifax Hurricanes, Saint John has also won 6 games and lost 4. Halifax has never won at Harbour Station. Against the top team in the NBL Canada all season, the Mill Rats will be looking to send a message on Sunday as the playoffs loom large.
After this weekend the Mill Rats will open the 2016 NBL Canada playoffs next week on May 4th and 5th against either the Moncton Miracles or the Island Storm. Playoff tickets are on sale here: www.harbourstation.ca or by calling the Harbour Station Box Office at 506-657-1234!
