Mill Rats Grind out Win on Road

(Montreal, QC): The Saint John Mill Rats, presented by Rogers, dug down and came up with a grind-it-out road win against the Montreal Jazz, 95-86, at the Pierre Charbonneau Centre.

Behind a hot Anthony Anderson (5-5 from field in first quarter), Saint John led 33-22 at the end of one.

In the second quarter, the Montreal Jazz were carried by forward Eric Frederick who ended the half with 21 points and 9 rebounds, and the Jazz led 50-45.

Saint John trailed all of the third quarter, but cut the deficit to one at 69-68. In the fourth quarter Jerice Crouch caught fire draining three 3 pointers, and Saint John won comfortably down the stretch for a final score of 95-86.

Leading all scoreres was Anthony Anderson with 31 points. Kenny Jones and Jerice Crouch added 12 each. Sheray Thomas had a solid 11 points and 8 rebounds in his homecoming. Frederick finished with 29 points and 15 rebounds.

The Mill Rats rise to 14-15 on the season and move back into 2nd place in the Atlantic Division.

Catch the team back in action at Harbour Station on Friday, Feb. 8th as they host the London Lightning. Game time is 7pm.
