Mill Rats Elite Team Tryouts Saturday at Centennial School

(Saint John, NB): Tryouts for Mill Rats Elite Teams will be held this Saturday at Centennial School 10 Constance Street in Saint John.
"The program has been going very well this summer with over 65 kids participating in our Club Program super sessions between Saint John and KV/Hampton," said Mill Rats President & General Manager Ian McCarthy. "We've had the benefit of great coaches such as Rob Spon, Anthony Anderson, Paul Vaughan, Jeff White, and Bob Fife."
With several teams filled, Mill Rats Elite is looking to fill roster spots for a boys u15 and u17 team, and girls u13 and u15 teams.
Tryout Schedule at Centennial:
11am-Noon: Girls Tryouts Ages 11-15
Noon-1pm: Boys Tryouts Ages 13-17
Cost: Free
About the Teams Program:
The Teams program places kids on competitive teams from June 15-July 19. The program includes 1 team practice a week where emphasis is on team play, and participation in 2-3 tournaments.
Some of the tournaments being considered include:
June 20-21: Bishop Elite, David Cooper - Manchester, NH - Boys & Girls teams
June 20-21: End of Season Splash - Saco Maine - Boys & Girls teams
June 26-28: East Coast Games - Saint John - Boys U15 only
July 3-5: Red Rock Classic - PEI - Boys & Girls teams
July 17-19: Summerfest - Saint John - Boys & Girls teams
Cost: $399 (includes team fee, tournament fees, and team gear)
David Cooper Announces Youth Tournament
David Cooper's Bishop Elite program has announced a youth tournament June 20-21 at Saint Anselm's College in Manchester, New Hampshire.
"This is a tournament we'd like to send some teams down to representing Mill Rats Elite. Coop helped start our program it would be great for some of our kids to go down to see him and show the development that's taking place in Saint John!"

TEAM MILL RATS ADD FAMILIAR FACE
Team Mill Rats have added 6'4 guard Melvin Council to the roster for the $1 Million Dollar Basketball Tournament. Council played for the Mill Rats in the NBL Canada during the 2012-13 season. He has had stints with the Brampton A's and the Rochester Razorsharks since.
Team Mill Rats are looking good with 392 votes in the #3 slot for votes and just 5 days remaining. Their team strength/experience rating is also good for 3rd overall in the region. So far over 60 players with NBA experience have appeared on roster throughout the tournament - demonstrating the depth of talent overall.
