
Mill Rats Come up Empty on the Road

(Halifax, NS): The Saint John Mill Rats presented by Rogers, have officially turned a six-game winning streak into two-game losing streak by coming up short in Moncton and Halifax, on the road.
The Mill Rats dropped a New Year's Day game at the Metro Centre in Halifax 97-70 after trailing just 42-40 at the half. Saint John shot just 26% from the field against the Rainmen and a mere 21% in the second half. Sheray Thomas had a great performance that went to waste with 21 points and 10 rebounds on 6-11 shooting. The remainder of the team was 14-66 from the field.
On Saturday the Moncton Miracles edged the Mill Rats 98-92. Anthony Anderson turned in a 28 point performance in the loss.
The games this weekend tightened an already very close Atlantic Division. Saint John drops to 10-9. Halifax improves to 10-10, Moncton sits at 10-11, and Summerside is 11-9.
The Mill Rats will return home for a trifecta of home games this week at Harbour Station. Starting on Thursday, January 3rd against Moncton, then Friday the 4th against the Summerside Storm, and Sunday against the #1 ranked defending champion London Lightning. Thursday and Friday games will be at 7pm while Sunday will be at 4pm.
Pro-rated season ticket packages, BOGO's, flex packs and more are still available at the Mill Rats Fan Zone located in Brunswick Square on the second level, or at the Harbour Station Box Office. -- The Mill Rats held Day 1 of their RBC Holiday Camp at Rothesay Netherwood School on Boxing Day, but due to weather conditions, Day 2 has been re-scheduled to Wed, Jan. 2nd, 2013.
Times are as follows for the 3 age groups:
MRBAJr clinic (ages 5-10): 1:00pm-2:00pm
MRBAJr clinic (ages 10-12): 2:05pm - 3:05pm
MRBA clinic (ages 13 and older): 3:10pm - 4:15pm
Cost: $25 per child per day (receipts available)
All participants will receive a t-shirt, water bottle and 2 ticket vouchers to a Saint John Mill Rats Game!
