Saint John Riptide News Release
The Saint John Mill Rats are pleased to announce the addition of 6'2 shooting guard Corey Allmond, a prolific 3-point shooter from Washington, DC.
Allmond played for Mill Rats Head Coach Rob Spon last season with the Rochester Razorsharks (PBL) and led the club in scoring at 20.1 points per game on a sizzling 43% from behind the nba-distance arc.
"Corey is as good as a shooter as anyone that's played for me, and his addition to the Mill Rats this season is a great start in building a roster that intends to compete for a title," said Coach Spon. "We are having conversations with players from last season which was a very good team also."
Allmond and Coach Spon completed an undefeated season last year in the PBL, capped off with a league championship.
"I'm just excited to get up there early and start working. I've heard great things about Saint John and they've fallen short of the ultimate goal in the past, but my mindset is focused on bringing winning swagger to the Mill Rats," said Allmond.
Previously Allmond has also played in the NBA Development League with the Maine Red Claws and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Internationally he has also played in China, Morocco, and Turkey. In college at Sam Houston State, Allmond lit up Kentucky setting a Rupp Arena record hitting 11-15 from three point range.
