Saint John Riptide News Release
(Saint John, NB): On the heels of a 4-game skid the Saint John Mill Rats have added two reinforcements to bolster their lineup going forward. Joining the team is 6'9 power forward Keith Gayden and 6'6 Canadian small forward Olu Famutimi.
Famutimi is familiar to the NBL Canada having played the last two seasons with the Island Storm and the Halifax Rainmen. He also played for Team Canada in 2007 and 2010. In college at Arkansas he averaged 9.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game before declaring early for the NBA Draft.
Gayden is a powerful low post scorer who will bring toughness and rebounding to the team. He played his college ball at Duquesne University and participated with Chicago Bulls in the 2007 NBA Summer League. He played this winter in Argentina and Chile. In Argentina he averaged 17 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in 2015-16.
To make room for Gayden and Famutimi, the Mill Rats released Denny McDonald and Darren Moore.
