Mill Rats - Storm 1st Round Playoff Dates Announced

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats first round playoff series against the Island Storm will open on Thursday March 5th at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown, PEI at 7PM Atlantic Standard Time.
The #3 seeded Mill Rats will host game 2 of the series at Harbour Station on Saturday March 7th at 7PM. The series will follow a 1-1-1-1-1 format due to booking logistics at the arenas. The full schedule for the first round is:
GAME 1: Thursday March 5th at 7PM at Eastlink Centre
GAME 2: Saturday March 7th at 7PM at Harbour Station
GAME 3: Sunday March 8th at 2PM at Eastlink Centre
GAME 4: Tuesday March 10th at 7PM at Harbour Station (if necessary)
GAME 5: Thursday March 12th at 7PM at Eastlink Centre (if necessary)
The (19-13) Storm won the season series 5-3 over the (17-15) Mill Rats, but Saint John took the last two games. The Mill Rats prevailed 111-106 over the Storm at Harbour Station on February 12th, and dominated in a 114-99 win at the Eastlink Centre on February 22nd.
"Win-loss records mean nothing now that the playoffs have begun," said Mill Rats Head Coach Julian King. "We are extremely confident, but we need to approach each and every game with a sense of urgency and play as hard as we can. You need to do that to compete against great teams like the Storm."
The Island are entering the playoffs on a 5-game losing streak while the Mill Rats won 10 of their last 12 games.
"The Storm are a class organization who have been to the NBL Canada Finals in each of the last two years in a row" said Mill Rats President & General Manager Ian McCarthy. "If we want to be in the conversation of a champion, we have to go through Charlottetown first to get there."
