MiLB Cancels 2020 Season

June 30, 2020 - California League (CalL) - Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Minor League Baseball (MiLB) and Major League Baseball (MLB) officially announced today the cancellation of the 2020 minor league baseball season due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"The health and safety of fans, players and staff has always been our top priority," said Vice President/General Manager Grant Riddle. "Although we are saddened by the loss of the 2020 season, we fully support the decision reached by Minor League Baseball.

"We are looking forward to the 2021 season when we can once again open the gates to LoanMart Field and bring our community the fun and excitement of Quakes baseball."

Although baseball will not be played at LoanMart Field this year, the Quakes are pleased that MLB will be returning and encourage fans to support the team's major league affiliate, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the many former Quakes who now don Dodgers blue.

Since its inaugural season in 1993, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes have provided the Inland Empire with fun, affordable family entertainment and championship caliber baseball. The Quakes have been crowned California League Champions three times, and future MLB stars have called LoanMart Field home including reigning NL and AL MVPs Cody Bellinger and Mike Trout.

The organization will now turn its attention to planning for a 2021 season filled with fireworks, bobbleheads, Family RV feast nights and more - bringing Quakes fans the entertainment that they have enjoyed for almost 30 years.

A Quakes representative will be in contact with all Quakes MVPs regarding 2020 ticket packages. All individual game ticket purchases will receive credit for future Quakes games.
