FLINT, Mich. (July 9, 2012) - The new Michigan Warriors management team today announced the hiring of current General Manager and Hockey Director of the Flint Iceland Arenas Jon Jepson as assistant coach for the Warriors. Jepson will continue in his roles with Iceland Arenas in addition to his duties with the team.

Jepson moved to Flint in 2010 after roles as a Hockey Director and General Manager at arenas in Fort Worth, Texas and Lafayette, Louisiana. A native of Toledo, Ohio, Jepson played Division I hockey at the University of Connecticut, graduating with a Master's degree in Sports Management. He was a 98 Junior B National Champion and played Junior A Hockey in the North American Hockey League, where he was selected as an All-Star. Jepson played for both the Chicago Freeze and the Grand Rapids Bearcats. He has coached all levels of youth hockey, from beginners to high school.

"I look forward to working with Jon and hearing new ideas from former NAHL player who has also played at the college level, and will be able to relate to the players and to help them achieve their goals of getting to the next level," said Moe Mantha, Michigan Warriors head coach. "He has experience working with youth players through various organizations. Along with Kevin Carlile returning for his third year, this will shore up our coaching staff."
