Michigan Warriors Announce Partnership with GFHA

December 2, 2011 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Michigan Warriors News Release

The Michigan Warriors have joined forces with the youth hockey association that currently plays at Perani Arena and Event Center.

GFHA President Kevin Brackett said "It's a win-win for both organizations, and a great opportunity for youth hockey players in Genesee County and the Michigan Warriors organization. " The goal is to develop players at a young age that will learn the skills, mental toughness and ability to end up playing hockey at the level that the Michigan Warriors play in the North American Hockey League.

The first steps in the process will be that the youth teams will carry the Warrior name on their jerseys, starting with the kids in the GFHA learn to skate program that started this fall, going by that name. As the kids develop and advance thru the program the current names of Phantoms and Ice Raiders will be phased out and all teams eventually carrying the Warriors moniker.

Warriors Head Coach and GM Moe Mantha is excited to help the youth hockey players in Genesee County. "The Michigan Warriors are thrilled with this partnership to be able to help develop hockey players in Genesee County. Hopefully as these kids develop they will learn the discipline needed to not only become good hockey players but role models in the community."

The Michigan Warriors play tonight at Perani Arena and Event Center, at 7:30 against the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, as the team welcomes fans from the Kearsley School district for Kearsley PTO Night at Perani Arena.
