Miami and Macon to be Next Dual Broadcast
January 22, 2004 - SPHL (SPHL) News Release
CELEBRATION, Fla. â The World Hockey Association 2 (WHA2) today announced that the next dual broadcast will take place on Sunday, January 25, when the Macon Trax take on the Miami Manatees.
The WHA2 announced early in December that for select audio broadcasts during the season both team broadcasters will call the game together. For each period, one team's broadcaster will call play-by-play while the other team's broadcaster will be the color analyst. While the teams battle it out on the ice, the broadcasters will compete good-naturedly over the airwaves.
Listen as Trax broadcaster Adam Minnick and Manatees broadcaster Mark Fischel call all the exciting WHA2 hockey action.
"All of the broadcasters have a friendly rivalry, so we like to have the opportunity to bring that to the broadcasts." Minnick said.
"The Manatees have a great home record." Fischel said. "I'm looking forward to giving Adam the business if the Manatees defeat the Trax."
All games can be heard on www.IRN.FM and are $1.99 per game.
The WHA2 has six member teams for the 2003 â 2004 season: the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, Miami Manatees, and Orlando Seals.
