Mesquite Marshals vs. the Sioux City Bandits

MESQUITE, Texas. Anguanius Frazier intercepted two key passes as the Mesquite Marshals defeated Sioux City 27-26 in a Champions Indoor Football league game here Saturday.
Trailing 27-26 with less than a minute left in the game, the Bandits (2-1) threw an incomplete pass on third down at the 14-yard line but were bailed out by a personal foul call on Frazier. Four plays later, Frazier redeemed himself after intercepting an A.J. Graham's pass on fourth and goal.
Frazier had an interception in the first quarter that he returned for a touchdown to give the Marshals (1-1) an early 12-0 lead. The Bandits (2-1) cut the lead to 12-7 on a 2-yard touchdown run by Drew Prohaska. Prohaska broke a tackle in the backfield before walking into the end zone. The Marshals (1-1) went up 15-7 early in the second quarter on a 50-yard field goal from Brandon Rosco. The Bandits answered on the first play of the ensuing drive. Graham tossed a 25-yard touchdown pass to Ricky Roberts Jr. to cut the lead to 15-14. Mesquite drove to the Sioux City 6-yard line late in the first half, but the Bandits defense answered with a sack after a bad snap on third down and forced an incomplete pass on fourth down.
Neither team scored in the third quarter, making the score 15-14 entering the fourth quarter.
Frederick Bruno scored on a 25-yard run giving the Bandits their first lead of the game at 20-15. Sioux City did not convert on the two-point try. Mesquite quarterback Kolton Browning was injured on the ensuing drive and left the game on a stretcher. Backup quarterback Arron Washington came in and threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Alexander, giving the Marshals a 21-20 lead.
On the ensuing possession, Graham threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Prohaska on third-and-27 to give Sioux City a 26-21 lead, but the Bandits missed the two-point conversion. On the first play of the ensuing possession, Washington scrambled for a 33-yard touchdown with 3:02 left in the game.
Sioux City finished with 231 yards of total offense while Mesquite had 200. The two teams combined to make 1 of 7 field goals. The Marshals will be on the road Saturdays headed north on I-75 to take on their new cross town rivals the Texas Revolution.
