
Merulla Selected as NAHL's East Division Player of the Week

The NAHL today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Easton Hockey for week ending January 31, 2016. Rebels forward Michael Merulla was named the East Division Player of the Week while defenseman Kristophers Bindulis was named honorable mentioned.
Merulla had eight points this past weekend against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. He had four goals and four assists. Saturday was his big night when he had a hat trick and three assists. Merulla now leads the team in points with 36 and is tied for most goals with Dean Balsamo at 17. "Mike has played fantastic hockey since we acquired him in mid-October. He just keeps getting better. Some NCAA school is going to be very fortunate to get him as his best days are still ahead of him," said Rebels head coach Joe Coombs.
This is the second time the Kennett Square, PA native was name the East Division Player of the Week. The other time was week ending December 12, 2015.
Rebels' home captain Bindulis, a Division 1 commit to Lake Superior State College, had four points this past weekend. He had a hat trick and an assist in Saturday night's blowout win.
This is the second straight week a Rebel was named the East Division Player of Week.
