Memphis Makes 66ers Conroy Eighth Gatorade Call-Up

GREENVILLE, S.C., Jan. 30, 2007 - Memphis Grizzlies President of Basketball Operations Jerry West announced today the team has signed Tulsa 66ers guard Will Conroy to a 10-day contract. The leading assist man in the NBA Development League is the eighth GATORADE Call-Up of the 2006-07 season.
Conroy played in 26 games for Tulsa this season, averaging 15.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and a league-high 10.3 assists. The 6-2, 195 pound guard is the second GATORADE Call-Up from the D-League in Grizzlies' history. Isaac Fontaine was called-up from the Mobile Revelers to Memphis in 2001-02.
The Seattle native played four years at the University of Washington (2001-2005), finishing as the school's all-time leader in assists (515). He also ranks sixth all-time in three-point field goals made (106) and 21st all-time in scoring (1,113).
Conroy will join the Grizzlies today, and be in uniform for Wednesday's game vs. Dallas.

The NBA Development League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Anaheim Arsenal (Calif.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Bakersfield Jam (Calif.), Colorado 14ers (Broomfield), Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Idaho Stampede (Boise), Los Angeles D-Fenders, Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.). Expansion teams in Utah and the Rio Grande Valley in Texas have also been announced to begin play in the 2007-08 season.
