Meet the San Francisco Pilots
August 29, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
San Francisco Pilots News Release
San Francisco, CA. Parimal Rohit, a Bay Area attorney and entepreneur, always knew that one day he would own a professional sports team. When the opportunity for an expansion team in the ABA arose, he quickly took advantage of it knowing that "San Francisco needs professional basketball, quality entertainment at affordable prices. The ABA is the perfect combination."
Mr. Rohit is an attorney, property manager and CEO of PMR Entertainment Group. He knows business, he knows sports and he knows entertainment. The team will play in Kezar Pavilion, a 4000 seat venue, perfect for the ABA. The General Manager of the team is Nathan Broussard, who besides operating several San Francisco based businesses, has served as GM for other professional basketball teams, coached in the San Francisco Summer Professional Leagues, and has served as an agent and scout. The team will be naming its Head Coach around September 10th.
Located in the heart of San Francisco, the Pilots are bringing affordable but entertaining professional basketball back to the city starved of the sport since the departure of the Warriors across the bay. According to Rohit, "We are also a very family-oriented team providing everyone in the city a chance to take part in the team." For more information, contact Parimal Rohit at parimal@sfpilotsonline.com or call 415 391 0507 or visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
