Orlando Predators News Release
It's everything Predators fans love...a fast paced sport and the Predators Dance Team!
This Saturday, Blake Lehr, who is sponsored by The Orlando Predators, will open his racing season at USA International Speedway in Lakeland during SpeedFest 2008.
"I'm ready to get started," said Lehr. "And a lot of thanks to the Predators for bringing the dance team out."
Lehr will race both days of SpeedFest, kicking things off Friday night in the Crate Late Model Challenge 100 and finishing up with Saturday night's Super Late Model NOS Energy Drink 200.
Lehr is only 17, but he started his racing career nine years ago driving in the World Karting Association and hasn't looked back.
"I've wanted to drive ever since I was four years old," said Lehr. "I used to watch NASCAR races with my dad and one day I told him I wanted to be a race car driver."
Since then, he's been busy making a name for himself in the racing world. In 2005, Lehr finished 2nd in the nation on dirt and then worked his way into stock cars. The following season he took Rookie of the Year honors in the Gulf Coast Modified Series.
Don't miss Blake in his Orlando Predators Bartow Ford Fusion Friday and Saturday night with pre-race ceremonies beginning at 7:30 p.m. both nights. You can also meet and get autographs from Blake and members of the Predators Dance Team on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lakeland Hooters located at 3400 US Highway 98.
