
McKenna Named Freedom Strength Coach

TRENTON, N.J. - Veteran Notre Dame High Athletic Performance Director and Assistant Football Coach John McKenna has joined the Trenton Freedom Football Club as Strength Coach.
McKenna is in his 16th season at Notre Dame High, in nearby Lawrence Township, and has been a strength coach and football coach for over 32 years. He was the first strength coach inducted into the New Jersey Coaches Hall of Fame and just recently was honored by the National Football Foundation for Contribution to Amateur Athletics.
He previously received honors from the New Jersey National Guard and Trenton Fire Department for his service to these organizations. McKenna resides in Yardville with his wife, Charyl. He has three daughters, a son, and nine grandchildren.
"John has done a terrific job with Notre Dame's athletes in the weight room for many years,'' said Freedom head coach Kevin O'Hanlon. "I really look forward to his helping our players.''
The Freedom will open their inaugural PIFL season at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, hosting the Richmond Raiders. Both season and single-game tickets are available by calling 1-800-521-FREE (3373) or by going to http://www.trentonfreedom.com/tickets.html.
