McGill Returns to RiverHawks

The Augusta RiverHawks announced Monday that forward Aaron McGill has been reassigned to the club following his loan to the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League. Also, defenseman Chris Wiggin has been signed to a standard player contract. Wiggin has played six games for the RiverHawks under two separate three-game try-outs.

In order to make room on the roster for McGill and Wiggin, the RiverHawks have waived forward Lucas Labelle and defenseman John Kearns.

McGill began the season with the RiverHawks, playing in 25 games while putting up eight goals and nine assists along with 102 penalty minutes. While with the Americans, McGill played in seven games, assisting on three goals and spending 41 minutes in the penalty box.

Wiggin has played in six games with the RiverHawks and has five penalty minutes and a +1 rating.

In total, Labelle has played in 23 games this season for the RiverHawks, scoring five goals and adding seven assists. Five of those assists have come in the seven games since returning to the RiverHawks after being loaned to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Kearns played in 33 games for the RiverHawks this season scoring a goal and adding six assists. He was a +1 and had 10 penalty minutes.

The RiverHawks are back in action on Phoenix Refrigeration Ice at the James Brown Arena Saturday, March 17th as they play the Cottonmouths. The puck drops at 7:35pm .The RiverHawks will be wearing specially designed St. Patrick's Day jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately following the game, with proceeds going to the Vision Discovery Institute at the Georgia Health Sciences University.
