Philadelphia KiXX News Release

Philadelphia, PA, November 14, 2008 - The Philadelphia KiXX announced today that Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter is expected to participate in the ceremonial first-kick prior to the KiXX home opener on Saturday, November 15 at 7:05pm ET. The final home opener at the Wachovia Spectrum will be webcast on PennLive, with veteran play-by-play man John Wilsbach providing the call. Games can be accessed by visiting www.pennlive.com/wmss or www.wmssfm.com.

Ethan Zohn, winner of Survivor: Africa, will continue his historic 550-mile trek from Boston to Washington, DC, dribbling a soccer ball the entire distance. Along with his Grassroot Soccer UNITED teammates, Ethan is dribbling a soccer ball on foot all the way to Washington, DC to raise awareness surrounding his organization Grassroot Soccer and the fight against HIV / AIDS.

There will also be special appearances by former Philadelphia Fever and KiXX players in honor of the 30 year anniversary of Professional Indoor Soccer and last year at the historical Spectrum.

The game will also be the 500th career game played for player/coach Don D'Ambra. D'Ambra became just the 15th player in MISL history to record 1,000 points in his career when he did so last season with a four-goal performance against the Orlando Sharks. D'Ambra returns this season for his 13th with the KiXX, the only player aside from goalkeeper Peter Pappas to be a member of the KiXX since the inaugural 1996-97 season.
