Saint John Riptide News Release

The Saint John Riptide won their second straight home game on Sunday afternoon over the Cape Breton Highlanders by a score of 107-93 in front of an excited home crowd.

The Riptide welcomed special guest and Mayor, Don Darling to center court during the half-time break to help launch the "Fill the Station" campaign. The concept is to fill Harbour Station for the upcoming Riptide home game against the Moncton Magic on Thursday March 29, 2018.

"This team deserves to play in front of 5000 plus people" said Darling as he encouraged the crowd and the corporate community to get behind the Riptide organization. Darling also pointed out that "The Riptide organization makes over 50 community visits every single year complimentary".

Following the launch, Riptide President Scott VanWart said "The Riptide have bee committed to giving back to this community. We are locally owned and managed and we want to make Saint John a better place to live and visit for all of us. We work extremely hard at being a positive influence to the next generation. Now we are asking for the community to step up and support this team as we make our push towards the playoffs."

Individual tickets for the Fill the Station Event can be purchased at the Harbour Station Box office and VanWart says there are also corporate packages available.

"Riptide games are a full entertainment experience, and we are told over and over it is the best entertainment value around. We are encouraging local companies to make it an employee night, or bring their friends and family. Have a great time and lets celebrate this team and this city." said VanWart.

The Riptide are currently on a road trip in Ontario and return to Harbour Station for their next home game on Thursday March 22nd.
