
Mayo Acosta Activated from AAA Durham

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The Montgomery Biscuits announce today, Thursday May 31st, that C Mayo Acosta has been added to the Biscuits' roster, and C David Wendt has been sent to High-A Port Charlotte.
Acosta was hitting .190 in 9 games with Triple-A Durham. In 2011, the Dominican-born catcher started the year with Low-A Bowling Green. He hit .221 with 3 home runs before being promoted to Charlotte where he spent the rest of the season hitting .203 in 60 games. Acosta threw out a combined 36% of would-be base-stealers in 2011. This is Acosta's sixth professional season, all of which he as spent in the Rays system.
The Biscuits roster is at a league-max 25 players.
