Maxim Massé Wins the Michael-Bossy Trophy

Boucherville, QC - The QMJHL is proud to announce that Maxim Massé of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens is the winner of the 2023-2024 Michael Bossy Trophy as the top professional prospect.

Last season's Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Rookie of the Year, Massé went one better, recording 36 goals and 39 assists for 75 points, ranking first among Saguenéens youth scorers. In the QMJHL, he ranked eighth in goals and 13th in points. The 6'2", 193-lb. right winger, selected third overall in the 2022 draft, collected 29 goals and 62 points in his rookie season.

Massé spent the vast majority of the season as the QMJHL's top prospect for the upcoming NHL Draft, according to NHL Central Scouting, before being edged out by Spencer Gill on the final list, released Tuesday. Massé is 30th among North American skaters and Gill, 29th.

Raoul Boilard, center, Baie-Comeau Drakkar

In 68 games, Boilard led all QMJHL rookies with 40 assists and 62 points, finishing third in scoring for the mighty Drakkar. The 17-year-old center also led all first-year players with a +27 rating, 563 face-off wins and 57.6% efficiency in the face-off circle. Boilard is considered the 51st best prospect in North America according to NHL Central Scouting.

Spencer Gill, defenseman, Rimouski Océanic

Gill progressed well this season, increasing his production from 4 to 46 points. He finished 10th among QMJHL defensemen in scoring, while his 12 goals earned him sixth place. The fifth overall pick of the 2022 QMJHL Draft, the 6'4", 182 lb. right-hander was fifth in scoring for the Océanic. Gill is considered the 29th best prospect in North America, according to NHL Central Scouting.
