Mavericks to Host Movie Night, Introduce Player Thursday

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - Missouri Mavericks' president and general manager Brent Thiessen announced Wednesday that the Mavericks will be participating in the hosted event by McClain Enterprises and the Graceland University interns for "Moonlight Movies on the Independence Square" on Thursday, August 13 starting at 7:30 p.m. Mavericks' head coach Scott Hillman will also announce and introduce the newest player signed for the team's inaugural season.

The event will take place at the Pharaoh Theatre parking lot located at 114 West Maple in Independence.

Fans are invited to attend beginning at 7:30 pm and Coach Hillman will make the player announcement around 8 p.m. In addition to the special announcement, the Mavericks will have a "shoot booth" for the kids and face painting provided by Face Painting Paradise. The Graceland University interns will also provide refreshments for the festivities.

The movie being played is The Mighty Ducks starring Emilio Estevez. It will start after the Mavericks' special announcement.

The Missouri Mavericks opening weekend at the brand-new Independence Events Center is November 13-14 against the Wichita Thunder. Season tickets are on sale now starting at $352.
