Howell, N.J. - Sky Blue FC heads to Houston this weekend to take on the Dash on Sunday, July 28 at 8:30 p.m. ET at BBVA Stadium.

Sky Blue FC holds ninth place in the NWSL standings with eight points. The Dash sit two spots ahead in seventh place with a record of 4-6-4 and 16 points. Throughout league history, the two teams have met 14 times. Sky Blue holds an all-time record of 6-5-3 against the Dash and hold an all-time record of 3-1-1 on the road at Houston. The Dash have won each of their last four games against Sky Blue by a combined score of 12-4.
Five different players have scored goals in 2019 for Sky Blue. Raquel Rodriguez leads the attack with three goals and one assist, followed by Carli Lloyd and Jen Hoy with two goals. Holding down the midfield is Sarah Killion, who is one of two midfielders in the NWSL to attempt 300+ passes at a completion rate of greater than 80% in each of the last three seasons. Sky Blue FC Goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan is second in the NWSL in saves per 90 minutes, amongst players with at least 500 minutes played. Even with missing five games due to the FIFA Women's World Cup, she has been in career form. Sheridan's save percentage is 81% and is higher than it's ever been by over 10%. Sheridan's distribution is top notch at stretching the opposition. Since being drafted in 2017, no goalkeeper has completed more passes in the opposition half than Sheridan.
Opponent
Houston is coming off a 5-0 loss against the Portland Thorns on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Providence Park. Houston has had trouble at home this season, holding a 1-4-2 record at BBVA Stadium. Houston has dropped 21 points from winning positions at home in NWSL play since 2016, the second most in the league.
Houston's players to watch are Rachel Daly, Sofia Huerta, and Kristie Mewis. Huerta, Daly, and Mewis have scored three goals apiece this season. Huerta has created the fourth-most chances this year with 23 and is one of just three players to create 20+ chances in each of the last four seasons. Additionally, Huerta, Christine Narin and Kyah Simon have added to the attack by notching two assists each.
Sky Blue FC vs. Houston Dash Rewind
Sunday's matchup is the second meeting of the season for the two teams. Sky Blue FC fell to the Dash with a score of 1-0 at Yurcak Field. Sofia Huerta scored the winning in the 83rd minute putting the Dash up 1-0.
Looking Ahead
Sky Blue FC will be on the road for the next two games, heading to Portland on Saturday, August 3rd the Thorns at 11 p.m. ET. The team will travel to Utah on Wednesday, August 7th for a 10 p.m. ET game at Rio Tinto Stadium. Sky Blue returns home to Yurcak Field on Wednesday, August 14th for the club's Back to School night as they face the Chicago Red Stars at 7 p.m. ET.
