Howell, N.J. - After a three-game road trip, Sky Blue FC returns home on Wednesday, August 14^th for the club's 7 p.m. "Back to School Night" match against the Chicago Red Stars at Yurcak Field.

Preview

Sky Blue FC holds ninth place in the NWSL standings with nine points and a record of 2-11-3. The Red Stars sit in second place, with 29 points and a record of 9-2-2. Wednesday's game is the second meeting of the season for the two teams. Sky Blue beat the Red Stars 2-1 in their previous matchup on July 6^th. Raquel Rodriguez and Jen Hoy each netted a goal for the win.

Rodriguez has returned from representing Costa Rica at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. She currently leads the Sky Blue attack with three goals and one assist. Kailen Sheridan currently has 49 saves this season, ranking her second in the NWSL for saves.

Opponent

Chicago is on a five-game winning streak. Their last loss was to Sky Blue on July 6^th in Chicago. The Red Stars recently defeated the Washington Spirit 1-0, with the lone goal coming from Yuki Nagasato. Starting in all 16 matches this season, Nagasato has five goals and four assists. She leads the Red Stars in assists, and holds second place in the NWSL.

Sam Kerr secured her fifth NWSL Player of the Week this season after helping Chicago secure their 2-0 win over Utah Royals FC on August 3^rd. Kerr currently leads the NWSL Golden Boot race with 12 goals, four goals ahead of second place.

Sky Blue FC vs. Chicago Red Stars FC Rewind

The two teams last played each other on July 6^th at SeatGeek Stadium. Sky Blue FC beat the Red Stars 2-1. Rocky Rodriguez netted the first goal of the game in the 22^nd minute. Sky Blue went up 2-0 in the 81^st minute with Jen Hoy finding the back of the net.

Looking Ahead

On August 18^th Sky Blue FC will be playing their ever match at Red Bull Arena against Megan Rapinoe and Reign FC with kickoff at 1 p.m. ET. Sky Blue is expecting to break their all-time club attendance record for this historic game. The game will be featured on ESPNEWS. In another first for Sky Blue, the match will also feature closed captioning on the video board for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing fans.
