Maryland Marvels Inaugural Tryout A Success
July 15, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Baltimore, MD. TD Bank sponsored the ABA Maryland Marvels' first tryout in Baltimore, MD on Sunday, July 12th and it was a huge success. The majority of the athletes represented the state of Maryland by way of Montgomery County, Howard County, Prince George's County and Baltimore. However, the impact of this once in a lifetime opportunity extended beyond Maryland's borders evidenced by the two prospects who traveled from Delaware and West Virginia. Following the tryout, team owner and GM James Agbai relived the day's activities commenting, "This is absolutely a dream come true. Not just for me, but for all of the prospects who competed hard and left everything out on the floor. We should all be proud of what was accomplished today."
The Maryland Marvels are now gearing up for the second tryout session to be held at 8am on Saturday, August 8th at the Capital Sports Complex in District Heights MD. The team anticipates a large turnout at the Capital Sports Complex evidenced by dozens of inquiring phone calls, emails and application submissions. The Maryland Marvels organization is looking forward to the upcoming tryout in the nation's capital.
