Marshals Rally But Fall Short 4-3 To Pump Jacks

The Texas Marshals started the top of the ninth inning trailing the East Texas Pump Jacks by a score of 4-2. After scoring one run to make it 4-3, the team had runners on first and second base with one out. They were unable to drive in the tying run, and the Pump Jacks held on for the 4-3 victory tonight at Irwin Field in Tyler.

Marshals' starter, Seth Jordan, earned the loss. He pitched seven innings and gave up four runs (two earned) and allowed 11 hits. Tristen Pendley earned the victory for the Pump Jacks, going seven innings and giving up two runs (earned).

Tyler Bates led the Marshals' offense, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI. He also had a double.

Tomorrow (Monday July 27) is an off-day for the TCL. The Marshals return home for a doubleheader on Wednesday, July 29, at Graham Field. The first game starts at 5:05 pm, and both games are scheduled for seven innings.
