
Marshals Come From Behind To Win In Bottom Of 9th, 8-7

In a wild finish to tonight's game at Graham Field (Prestonwood Baptist Church campus) in Plano, the Texas Marshals scored four runs in the bottom of the 9th inning. The team had to come from behind and win 8-7 over the visiting Acadiana Cane Cutters.

The Cane Cutters led 7-4 going into the bottom of the ninth inning. The Marshals closed the gap to 7-6 with a two-run home run by David Fry. Ben Brookover and Zach Hardy then reached base. A one-out fly ball to right field by Mitchell Andrews dropped out of the glove by the sliding right fielder, allowed both Brookover and Hardy to score the final runs.
Hunter Spielman came in to pitch a scoreless ninth inning in relief. He earned the win. Joey Cresta earned the loss giving up two hits and two runs, after coming in the ninth inning with one out (relieving Brast).
The Marshals' offense was led by David Fry. He went 3-for-5 including his home run in the ninth inning, with a total of 4 RBI. He also had a double.
This Tuesday night, July 14, the Marshals host the Brazos Valley Bombers at Graham Field. It will be a doubleheader, with both games being scheduled for seven innings. First pitch is 5:05pm.
