Marlies Forward Jamie Devane Assigned to Plymouth

Dave Nonis, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that forward Jamie Devane has been assigned to the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League.

Devane, 20, skated in two preseason games with the Marlies but was held scoreless. Last season in 63 games with Plymouth, the 6'5, 220-pound forward collected 38 points (19 goals, 19 assists) and 131 penalty minutes. Devane ranked first on the Whalers in penalty minutes and fourth in power play goals with seven. He played in 10 playoff games, recording five points (two goals, three assists) and 19 penalty minutes.

The Mississauga, Ontario native also attended the Maple Leafs prospect camp and participated in the rookie tournament this summer. In three games at the rookie tournament, Devane posted two points (one goal, one assist) and 14 penalty minutes.

The Marlies travel to Grand Rapids on Friday night to take on the Griffins at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, the Marlies host the Lake Erie Monsters in their home opener at 3:00 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum.
