
Mariners Take Appy League East Title

The Pulaski Mariners won the Appalachian East Division and clinched home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with Bluefield's 8-5 loss in Kingsport last night. They'll open their first round series tomorrow on the road against the East runner-up, the Bluefield Blue Jays. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET at Bowen Field.
The Mariners will return home Sunday to host game two with first pitch set for 7:00 p.m. ET. Game three (if necessary) will also be played at Calfee Park with another 7:00 p.m. ET start.
Right-hander Edwin Diaz (5-2, 1.43) will take the mound in the series opener. Diaz took home honors as the Appalachian League Pitcher of the Year. Former Virginia Tech Hokie Eddie Campbell (3-3, 3.72) is scheduled to start in game two at Calfee Park.
