
Mariners Shoot for the Stars, Beat Astros 13-1

Pulaski VA (August 17, 2011) - Another great night of baseball is in the books Wednesday night at Historic Calfee Park. The Mariners scored early and often winning the game easily 13-1.
The Astros lone run came in the first inning on a lead-off homerun by Josh Magee. From there on out it was all Pulaski. The Mariners took the lead in the bottom half of the second inning on RBI singles from David Villasuso and Jamal Austin.
With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the third, the Mariners offense ran on all cylinders scoring seven times in the inning. After Daniel Paolini and Alfredo Morales scored on throwing errors, David Villasuso kept the rally going knocking another RBI single that scored Efrain Nunez to give the Mariners the lead 6-1. With two outs and two runners on base, Guillermo Pimentel blasted his ninth dinger of the season over the scoreboard in right center field. The three run shot game the Mariners the overwhelming 9-1 lead.
The Pulaski Marines would score twice in the fifth and sixth innings on multiple errors by Greeneville and RBI from David Villasuso and Jamal Austin to give the Mariners what would be the final score of 13-1.
Jamal Austin, Guillermo Pimentel, and David Villasuso each had 3-5 nights with eight RBI and four runs scored between them. Efrain Nunez went 2-4 on the night with three runs scored.
Dillon Unworthy (5-4) got the win after a great outing. He completed six innings of work, only allowing one run on four hits, and struck out four. Adrian Houser (1-2) was hit with the loss.
The Pulaski Mariners will be celebrating race night Thursday August 18, at Historic Calfee Park. A dollar off admission will be granted to anyone that comes to the park wearing NASCAR apparel.
Show up early, because the first two hundred people that enter the park will receive a free ticket to the Motor Mile Speedway for race day on September 10th. There will be a drawing for four VIP tickets to the Motor Mile Speedway that includes a buffet from Texas Roadhouse.
Our promotional games Thursday night will be race themed and race themed items will be tossed into the stands though out the game. So come support your Pulaski Mariners and celebrate Race Night at Historic Calfee Park.
