
Marinaro to replace Doyle on All-Star Team

(Westport, Conn., February 5, 2004) â Cleveland Force forward Hector Marinaro, indoor soccer's all-time leading scorer, has been named to the MISL International All-Star team, the Major Indoor Soccer League has announced. As the first alternate, Marinaro replaces Dallas Sidekicks forward David Doyle, who broke his ankle in a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia KiXX on Sunday, January 25. Doyle will be sidelined six-to-eight weeks with the injury.
Marinaro, who has scored 1,215 goals and assisted on 693 others over the course of his unparalleled career, will make his 15th straight overall All-Star appearance. Marinaro and his MISL International teammates will square off against the MISL USA side on Sunday, February 29, at the Family Arena in St. Charles, MO. Kickoff is 1:05 p.m. Central.
Online fan balloting to determine the 2004 All-Star starting lineups begins on Friday, February 6. All-Star coaches will be announced on Monday, February 9.
