Goals:
- JC Lipon works his way to the net where he hits Chase De Leo with a beautiful pass leaving him a tap-in past Jared Coreau on a five-on-three powerplay with 28 seconds remaining in the first period.
- While on the powerplay Eric Tangradi was able to bang in a rebound past Eric Comrie with 4:07 remaining in the second period.
- Matt Halischuk works hard to keep the puck in the offensive zone and cycles it down to John Albert. Albert drives the net and feeds Patrice Cormier in front who deflects it in at the 10:47 mark of the third period.
Highlights/Notes:
- Forward Matt Halischuk played his first game since being re-assigned by the Jets and earned an assist in his first game back.
- Patrice Cormier scored his first game-winning-goal of the season. He has scored in two of his last three games.
- Defenceman Brenden Kichton's point streak ended at three games.
- Eric Comrie continues his spectacular play at home making 37 saves to improve his home record to an incredible 7-2-2 with a goals against average of 2.07 and a save percentage of .938 at the MTS Centre. Comrie made 33+ saves for the fourth consecutive game.
- The Moose scored on the powerplay for the second straight game and have scored at least one powerplay goal in three of their last four games. The Moose now own the AHL's 11th best home powerplay at 19.3%.
- The Moose tied the season series with the Griffins with a win each. The meet twice more in Grand Rapids on Mar. 11 & 12
Next Game is Friday, Jan. 8 at the MTS Centre in the first of two games against the Toronto Marlies. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
