Manchester Wolves to Hold Final Open Tryout for 2006

Manchester Wolves News Release
The Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire's professional football team, will be holding their last open tryout on Saturday, March 11. Perspective players for the 2006 season are invited to attend the one-day tryout, to be held at Rising Stars Sportcenter ( 68 Technology Drive) in Bedford, N.H.
Registration will begin at noon on the day of the camp. Tryouts will run from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Any position players (except kickers) age 18 and older with experience and knowledge of the game are welcome to attend.
Because space is limited, to guarantee a chance to tryout, players are urged to pre-register by Friday, March 10. A $50 non-refundable fee will be charged to those who pre-register. Those who register on the day of the event will be charged $60. Participants should be prepared to complete any drill performed at a professional football combine or tryout. The facility is indoors so appropriate clothing and shoes, as well as a mouthpiece, are required. A Wolves camp T-shirt will be provided to all participants.
Most recently, Mike Abate and Brian Gordon were assigned to the 2006 squad after earning their place on the team based on their performances at the team's first open tryout on November 5. David Bailey and Ron Smalls proved that they had what it takes to be successful at the 2005 tryouts. Bailey played four games last season, catching 11 passes for 130 yards, including three touchdowns. Smalls played in all 17 games, collecting two interceptions, five pass breakups and two forced fumbles defensively. He ranked third on the 2005 squad with 59.0 total tackles.
"We have a great foundation for the team this year," said Wolves Head Coach Ben Bennett. "However, we're always looking for more guys who can play the game. There is a lot of talent out there, and we're ready to take notice."
