Manchester Wins Home Finale

Manchester, NH: The Manchester Millrats overcame a slow start to win their regular season home finale 110-87 over the Jersey Express.

After leading 32-19 at the end of the first quarter, they suddenly found themselves down 41-40 to the Express with three minutes left in the second. By halftime, Manchester had reclaimed a three point lead, at 52-49.

In the second half, it was the Millrats who got back on track, outscoring their opponents 58-38.

Anthony Anderson led all scorers with 30 points. Cedric McGinnis added 21 points, and Charles Mason 19. PJ Young chipped in 13 points and 17 boards, while Al Stewart scored 11, grabbed 14 rebounds, and dished 9 assists. Phil Smith led Jersey with 22 points.

The win improves Manchester's record to 22-10 while Jersey drops to 7-11.

The Millrats are on the road for the remainder of the season beginning tomorrow afternoon at Framingham State College to face the Boston Blizzard at 4:15 pm. On Wednesday they depart on a two week road trip that includes games in the Bahamas, New Jersey, and Singapore.
