Saint John Riptide News Release
The Manchester Millrats are pleased to release their 2009-2010 Premier Basketball League (PBL) schedule.
This season, the PBL welcomes the addition of several new franchises including the two-time former CBA champion, the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry from Oklahoma, as well as the former BSN champions from Puerto Rico, the Capitanes de Arecibo, and the Maryland GreenHawks.
Returning from last season are the Rochester Razorsharks, the Vermont Frost Heaves, the Quebec Kebs, the Halifax Rainmen, and the Buffalo Stampede.
The Millrats open the regular season at home on January 3rd at 4:05pm against the Vermont Frost Heaves.
"This league is going to be extremely competitive and we are looking forward to the challenge," stated new Millrats Head Coach Heath Teixeira. "Four of the teams are multi-year champions from different leagues (Rochester, Vermont, Lawton-Fort Sill, and Puerto Rico), and all of the other teams have improved since last season. It's going to be a war every single night."
Last season the Millrats were the Atlantic Division champions (16-4) and reached the PBL playoff semifinals.
The Millrats open training camp on December 12th. All home games are played at the Fieldhouse on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University. Tickets will be going on sale shortly. For a complete league schedule visit www.pblproball.com.
