Saint John Riptide News Release

The Manchester Millrats are pleased to announced the signing of 6'6 guard Louie McCroskey for the 2009-2010 Premier Basketball League season.

McCroskey attended the Millrats NH Exposure Combine in October and has been on their radar ever since. Last season, he played for Vantaan Pussihukat in Finland before a stint with the Albany Patroons.

A native of the Bronx in New York City, McCroskey played three seasons at Syracuse before transferring to Marist. As a senior, he averaged 12.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while knocking down 41% of his three point attempts.

"Louie gives us a player who played big time college basketball and can step in right away and contribute," explained Millrats Head Coach Heath Teixeira. "He is a big guard which also helps us with our defense and rebounding."

The Millrats resume training camp on December 26th, and are expected to announce additional signings this week before participating in the Champlain Cup Tournament in Barre, Vermont on December 28th and 29th.

The Manchester Millrats are a third year minor league franchise based in Manchester, NH. The Millrats are a member of the Premier Basketball League (www.thepbl.com), the #1 independent minor league in the U.S.

Last season, the Manchester Millrats were the Atlantic Division Champions (16-4) and reached the PBL playoff semifinals.

Tickets are on sale online at www.millrats.com for the Millrats season opener against the Vermont Frost Heaves on January 3rd at Southern New Hampshire University.
