Manchester Wolves News Release

The arenafootball2 league office announced today that Shawn Brady has been assigned to the Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire's professional football team. Brady earned his spot with the Wolves after excelling in the team's first open tryout on Saturday, Nov. 11.

"Shawn earned his shot based on his performance at the tryout," Wolves Head Coach Ben Bennett said. "Now the rest is going to be up to him, he has to come to camp in shape and ready to compete again."

Brady (6'2, 205), will compete in March for a roster spot at the quarterback position after putting together a stellar career (2001-2004) at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where the right-hander left his mark on 16 different school records. The Peabody, MA native left Northeastern as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in school history, currently ranking second in passing yards (6,630), second in pass completions (462), first in touchdown passes (54), first in interception percentage (27 INTs in 847 attempts), third in completion percentage ( 54.5%), and second in total offense (6,999).

"This was my first-ever professional tryout camp, and I'm just happy that I performed well," said Brady, who had extra motivation as his parents were watching in attendance. "I can't wait to get started and play for a team that is nice and close to my home so that my family can attend all the games."

Due to the success and demand of the Wolves first tryout, that brought players in from as far as Ontario-Canada, Wheaton-Illinois, and Warwick-Rhode Island, the team will hold another workout in late January or early February. Details of that tryout will be announced when they become available.

"This was hands down the most talented tryout camp that I've seen since I've been in Manchester," added Bennett. "There was at least another six guys out there that have af2 potential and a chance to make our camp in March, hopefully they'll work on the things I taught them today and come back to our next tryout in a couple months."
